2 arrested militants were working slippered system

The two militants arrested before the raid on the militant hideout in Narayanganj were working in a sleeper cell system, said the head of the Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime Unit (CTTC). Asaduzzaman. He also said that they were operating under the direction of a so-called emir named Mahadi Hasan Jan.
He made the remarks at a press conference at the DMP's media center in Narayanganj on Monday (July 12th) on two separate 'militant hideouts'.
The CTTC chief said the arrested Abdullah Al Mamun alias David Killer and Kauser Hossain alias Major Osama were being prepared to file cases under anti-terrorism law at Bandar Police Station and Araihazar Police Station. The two have been remanded for ten days. If remanded, they will be interrogated extensively.
He added that David Killer was working as a muezzin of a mosque in Narayanganj. Kausar Hossain alias Major Osama had been serving as the trainer of the military wing of the new JMB for a long time. In continuation of this, he used to communicate with other members of the military wing of the organization online and offline and train them to make bombs. He was in regular contact with Amir Mahadi Hasan alias Abu Abbas Al Bangali, the new JMB of Bangladesh.
Earlier on Sunday (July 11), two separate 'militant hideouts' were raided in Narayanganj and the two were arrested along with a large quantity of bomb-making equipment. The Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) carried out the operation for about 10 hours overnight.
The CTTC launched an operation inside a house in Panchgaon village of Araihazar Upazila on Sunday evening. After the start of the operation, the sound of the explosion was heard from outside the security perimeter around 11:15 pm. Then at 11:10 two more explosions were heard. Three powerful bombs were defused there. The whole area shook at that sound. A large quantity of bomb-making equipment was recovered from there.
At the end of the campaign, said the head of the CTTC. Asaduzzaman said the bomb disposal unit had defused three IEDs inside the house.
Some more bomb-making equipment was recovered from a house in the Bandar Dhamghar Kazipara area after the raid on Araihazar. CTTC officials said, said the house in Kazipara port. The imam of a mosque named Naeem lived there. Organizationally he is known as Major Osama. Naeem is a military member of the new JMB and a bomb-making instructor.
