According to the report of the foundation, 6 people were killed in 6 motorcycle accidents in those 11 days, which is 42.02 percent of the total deaths. The motorcycle accident rate is 48.10 percent.

A total of 43 pedestrians were killed in motorcycle accidents, accounting for 20.6 percent of the total deaths.

The driver and assistant of the vehicle were killed 32 people, i.e. 15.45 percent.

At least two people were killed and 26 injured in four boat accidents. Two people have been killed in two railway accidents.

The death toll from the accident was 6 for motorcyclists and riders (42.02 percent), 12 for bus passengers (5.69 percent), 8 for truck pickups (3.8 percent), and 13 for microbus-private cars. .26 percent), three-wheeler passengers (CNG-easybike-autorickshaw-Laguna) 31 (14.98 percent), Nachimon-Mahindra-Chander 10 passengers (4.83 percent) and bicycle riders 3 (1). 44 percent).

Of the accidents, 48 (29.11 percent) were due to collisions, 54 (34.17 percent) due to loss of control, 42 (28.56 per cent) due to crushing/pushing pedestrians and 16 (10.12 percent) hitting the back of vehicles.

The number of vehicles involved in the accident is 26. Citing road accidents, the Road Safety Foundation said faulty vehicles, reckless speed, incompetence of drivers and physical and mental illness, unpaid wage-hours, speeding on highways, reckless motorcycling of young people, not knowing traffic rules in public and Non-compliance, poor traffic management, lack of BRTA capacity and extortion in the public transport sector.

Recommendations from the Road Safety Foundation

The Road Safety Foundation has made a number of recommendations to prevent accidents. These include increasing the number of skilled driver initiatives, fixing the working hours of drivers, increasing the capacity of BRTA, ensuring uninterrupted application of traffic laws to transport owners, workers, passengers and pedestrians, stopping low-speed vehicles on highways, and creating separate lanes for them. , Construction of road dividers on all highways in phases and stopping extortion on public transport.
