Over 100 lawmakers affected by 2nd wave of Covid-19

More than 100 lawmakers have been affected by coronavirus. Besides, four of the parliament members have died being affected by this deadly virus. Moreover, 17 parliament members, of this current parliament, have died so far for various reasons.
Though many of the MPs have recovered from the virus, former law minister Abdul Matin Khasru died. The condition of Rajshahi law maker Fazle Hossain Badsha and ruling party MP Farooque are critical, said the concerned.
Based on the information from secretariat medical center, at total of 111 parliament members have become infected, and some of them did not have any symptoms.
Abdul Matin Khasru tested coronavirus positive on March 16, and later was admitted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH). Later he died. Actor and law maker Akbar Hossain Farooque is critical.
Now, he is in ICU of a Singapore hospital. He was infected with the virus in November of last year for the first time.
Gazipur -4 lawmaker Simin Hossain Rimi, Haji Mohammad Selim, Asim Kumar Ukil, among others have been infected by the virus. According to the information from the parliament medical center, parliament members from Jamalpur 4, Chattogram 1, Chattogram 12, Cox’s Bazar 1, Cox’ Bazar 2, Cox’s Bazar 4, Cumilla 4, Feni 2, Noakhali 3, Habiganj 1, Habiganj 2, among others, have contracted the virus.
Besides, some of the members of the reserved seats have also been affected by the virus. They include Khodeza Nasrin Akhter Hossain, Nahid Izhar Khan, Shirin Ahmed, Jannatul Bakia, Aroma Dutt and Rowshan Ara Mannan.
MP Fazle Hossain Badsha has been brought to Dhaka by air ambulance. He was admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital and now taking treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical Hospital in the capital.
Alongside Abdul Matin Khasru, former health minister Mohammad Nasim of Siranganj 1, Israfil Alam of Naogaon 3 and Mahmud Us Samad Chowdhury of Sylhet 3 died of coronavirus.
