A child on Tuesday
afternoon drowned while taking bath in a pond in Panchagarh’s Sada upazila.
The deceased was
identified as Nasrin Akhter Nadia (7), daughter of Nazim Uddin of Sitagram
village of the upazila.
Panchagarh Sadar Police
officer-in-charge (OC) Abdul Latif Mia said that the child fell into the pond
and died
Locals said Nasin went
to bathe in a pond next to her house with three of her friends. She did not
know how to swim and drowned. Unable to find her when her friends screamed,
locals and Nasrin’s family members joined the search.
Recovering the body
when taken to Panchagarh Sadar Hospital the doctor on duty declared her dead.
