A tragic road mishap took away lives of mother and her daughter in Magura on Monday. The deceased were identified as Sharifa Begum 30, wife of  Ibadul Fakir of village Pulum under Shalikha Upazila of Magura while Khadiza Begum (7 months), daughter of Ibadul Fakir .

 Shalikha police station officer in charge Taroknath Biswas informed Sharifa Begum along with her daughter Khadiza were coming to Arpara bazar from village Pulum by an engine-driven van. The accident took place around 11 in the morning when a truck from opposite directions collided with the van at the Junari area of Shalikha Upazila. Sharifa and Khadiza died on the spot. Subsequently, police arrested the driver Shukur Ali along with the truck. The dead bodies were sent to Magura 250-bed hospital for postmortem.
