The education ministry today decided that all secondary schools and colleges will remain open till April 20 during the Ramadan.

The education ministry made the decision at a meeting today, said Abul Khair, public relations officer of the ministry. Earlier it said that all secondary schools and colleges will remain open till April 26 during the Ramadan.

The decision was then taken to recover the learning losses caused due to school closure over Covid-19 pandemic, the Secondary and Higher Education Division said in an order issued on March 28.

A top education minister said that the date was rescheduled keeping in mind different kind of discussions. Earlier, the primary and mass education ministry decided that all primary schools and colleges will remain open till 20th Ramadan.

In-person classes in schools fully resumed in mid-March, after over 720 days of schools closure in two phases in between March 17, 2020 to March 2022.
