Election Commission to hold fair polls in country: Bahauddin Nasim

Awami League (AL) Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim today said next national election will be held in a free and fair manner under the Election Commission (EC) and the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be in office during the polls.

He said this while addressing the triennial council of Chapainawabganj District Swechchhasebak League as the chief guest at Birshrestha Shahid Captain Mohiuddin Jahangir Muktamoncha in Chapainawabganj.

Terming Tarique Zia as the founder of Hawa Bhaban and prince of corruption, Nasim said the absconding BNP leader is conspiring from abroad.

BNP was born in army camp and the party does not think about the country's peoples, he said, adding that Awami League's leaders and workers would face their conspiracy.

Founder president of Swechchhasebak League, Nasim said BNP had established misrule during their tenure in power.

He said the people of Bangladesh is united the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as she is working round-the-clock for the country's peoples.

At the end of the conference, Nasim offered doa and munajat at the graves of former president of Chapainawabganj District AL Moin Uddin Mondal and District Swechchhasebak League's former president Mizanur Rahman.

Swechchhasebak League President Nirmal Ranjan Guha inaugurated the council.

Council preparatory committee convener Iftekharul Islam Sujan preside over the council while acting president of Chapainawabganj District AL Md Ziaur Rahman, General Secretary Md Abdul Wadud, Joint General Secretary Dr Shamil Uddin Ahmed Semul, Ferdousi Islam Jesse, MP, Swechchhasebak League central vice president Md Abdur Razzak, organising secretary Shajalal Mukul and publication secretary KM Monwarul Islam Bipul, among other, were present in the council.
