 At least 3 people were killed in accidents at different places of Joypurhat on Monday night.

The deceased was identified as Selim Ahmed (39), son of Anisur Rahman of Panchbibi Post Office area; Shahanur Islam (20), 10th-grade student of Dharanji High School and son of Masud Rana of Tajpur village; and Sahab Uddin (31), son of Khatibar Rahman of Dugarpara village.

Selim Ahmed was crushed under a truck while it was overtaking another truck on Joypurhat-Bogra highway in Kalai district on Tuesday afternoon. He died on the spot.

Police seized the truck after the accident.

School student Shahanur Islam lost control of his motorcycle in the Ratanpur area of Joypurhat’s Panchbibi Upazila. He was taken to Bogra's Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital where he died Monday night while undergoing treatment.

Meanwhile, Sahab Uddin of Dugarpara village in the same Upazila died on the spot after being electrocuted while working on the power system of a battery-powered auto-van on the same day.

The Officer-in-charge of Panchbibi Police Station Palash Chandra Dev and Officer-in-Charge of Kalai Police Station Selim Malik confirmed the incidents.

The bodies of the deceased were handed over to their families.
