Cox's Bazar road accident leaves four dead

Four people were killed and two others injured after a truck hit an auto-rickshaw in Ukhiya upazila of Cox's Bazar last night. Three of the deceased were identified as Sanatan Sharma, a Rohingya of Kutupalang Refugee camp, Jihan and Nurul Islam.

The accident happened on Cox's Bazar-Teknaf road near Kutupalong camp around 10:45pm yesterday, said Shefayetul Islam, officer-in-charge of Shapuree Highway Police Station.

The truck was heading towards Balukhali from Ukhiya and hit the auto-rickshaw bound for Cox's Bazar, leaving four dead on the spot, the police officer said. The injured were taken to a local hospital, he said.  Police seized the truck and auto-rickshaw after the accident.
