4 arrested as deer smuggling gang busted in Barishal

Police seized 37 kg
venison along with six deer skins and detained four men from Aigailjhara of
Barishal on Tuesday morning for
allegedly smuggling venison.
The detainees are
Mridul Haldar, owner of a deer farm in Aigailjhara and executive director of
the NGO Alo Shikha Samaj Unnayan Kendra, and his associates Khokon Sarkar,
Sunil Chandra Sarkar and Biplob Sarkar .
The OC of Aigailjhara police station Golam Sarwar
confirmed the information to the media.
“During a raid on a
deer farm in Rajihar Union at around 11 pm,
six deer skins and 37 kg of deer meat were seized from a trafficking
racket. Four people, including the owner of the
farm were detained,” the OC said.
“A case will soon be
filed against the detainees,” he added.
