Coronavirus: 5 new deaths, 657 cases

Five more people died from coronavirus and 657 newly contracted the virus in the past 24 hours. With this, the total fatalities and infections rose to 29,058 and 19,45,765 respectively, a health directorate press release on Thursday.
As many as 22,568 samples were collected and 22,584 tested in the past day. During the period, 4,628 more patients recovered from the illness, taking the total number of recoveries to 18,31,577. Bangladesh, however, first reported its coronavirus cases on March 8, 2020. The virus first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December 2019 and then it spread to other countries.
To date, the epidemic infected 440,840,570 people and killed 5,994,516 across the globe, according to Worldometer, a website that compiles the number of new coronavirus cases and deaths from it. However, the total number of people who recovered from the virus reached 373,648,541 across the world.
