As many as 57,585 Bangladeshis will be performing Hajj, the most important pilgrimage for Muslims, this year.

Saudi Arabia has already fixed the number of people to be allowed from a country, the Saudi Gazette reports. According to Saudi Arabia’s Hajj and Umrah Ministry, 151,000 Muslims from Indonesia, the highest number, will be performing the pilgrimage this year.

The second-highest number of pilgrims to be allowed is from Pakistan with 81,132 people. A total of 79,237 people from India will be going to the Middle Eastern country for the pilgrimage.

Africa’s Angola has the lowest number of pilgrims with 23 Muslims. Saudi Arabia recently announced that 1 million people would be able to perform Hajj this year. Among them, 85% of the pilgrims are from different parts of the world while the rest are from Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi government has stipulated a number of rules, including the fact that pilgrims cannot be more than 65 years in age and have to be fully vaccinated. Moreover, they must have a negative PCR test certificate with 72 hours’ validity.
