Bangladesh bat first in 3rd ODI against Afghanistan

Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first against Afghanistan in the series concluding match at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Monday.

Bangladesh went in unchanged while Afghanistan brought back Gulbadin Naib instead of Fareed Ahmed.

The match starts at 11:00am that is being telecasted live on Gazi TV and T Sports. Bangladesh won the first ODI by four wickets while clinching the series by earning an 88-run victory in the second game but ICC Super League points are at stake the hosts have no reason to be relaxed as every point in the bilateral series is important despite winning the series.

The hosts reached a magical 100 points and moved to the top of ICC ODI Super League after defeating the visitors in the second ODI’s but still, there is a long way to go for them as far as booking a place in the next edition of ICC World Cup is concerned as they have got some tough series coming up.

Bangladesh’s remaining ODI assignments will be against South Africa, Ireland and England with the first two assignments away from home while the series against England at home will not be easy either.

Apart from that a victory in the third game will help them to leapfrog Pakistan and move to sixth position in the ICC ODI rankings while a win will help them to whitewash Afghanistan for the first time also. Bangladesh earned seven wins in 10 matches played between the two teams.
