Prayers were held in memory of the language soldier at Borhanuddin

Iftar and prayer mahfil has been organized for the souls of late Reza A Karim Chowdhury (Chunnu Mia) and mother of late Nurjahan Begum, son of Qutuba Abdul  Jabbar Mia Bari of Borhanuddin Upazila of Bhola, father of former Upazila Parishad Chairman Md. Mohabbatjan Chowdhury.

 The event was organized on Monday 11th April at AH Jabbar Mia's house in Kutuba Union of the Upazila.  Before Iftar, special prayers are offered for the forgiveness of the departed souls of the deceased, recitation of the Qur'an and recitation of Tasbeeh.  In this, various professional people, political leaders, orphans, and helpless people all take part in Iftar.  And after Maghrib, food is distributed among the orphans and the needy.

 Doa munajat was conducted by Khatib Alhaj Maulana Md. Nur Hossain Nurani of the traditional mosque of Mia Bari.  Leaders of different levels of Upazila Awami League, local media workers and various professional people of the society were present on the occasion.

 Reza-e-Karim Chowdhury Chunnu Mia, the only language soldier of Bhola, was born in 1931 in the house of Abdul Jabbar Mia of Kutuba Union in Borhanuddin Upazila of Bhola.  He was elected a member of the Central and Provincial Councils (MLA) in the 1970 elections.  Was the first line organizer of the liberation war in Bhola.  Besides, he was one of the members of the constitution drafting committee of independent Bangladesh.

 In Sadasid, the man taught without pay at Burhanuddin Secondary School and Abdul Jabbar College.  The man who had a colorful career passed away on Friday, March 2, 2007.
