Coronavirus: 8 new deaths, 799 cases

Eight more people died from coronavirus and 799 newly contracted the virus in the past 24 hours. With this, the total fatalities and infections rose to 29,045 and 19,44,376 respectively, a health directorate press release on Tuesday.
As many as 23,883 samples were collected and 23,817 tested in the past day. During the period, 7,460 more patients recovered from the illness, taking the total number of recoveries to 18,22,125. Bangladesh, however, first reported its coronavirus cases on March 8, 2020. The virus first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December 2019 and then it spread to other countries.
To date, the epidemic infected 437,555,002 people and killed 5,976,962 across the globe, according to Worldometer, a website that compiles the number of new coronavirus cases and deaths from it. However, the total number of people who recovered from the virus reached 369,137,958 across the world.
