Detectives have arrested a shooter over the murders of former General Secretary of Motijheel Thana Awami League Jahidul Islam Tipu and Badrunnesa Government Mahila college student Samia Afran Prity.
A source from DB police confirmed the matter to Jago News around 12pm on Sunday. In this connection, DB Additional Police Commissioner AKM Hafiz Akter, said a press briefing will be held at DMP centre in this regard at noon.
Tipu, who was on his microbus destined for his Khilgaon home, was shot dead by a masked assailant in the capital’s Shahjahanpur area on Thursday night. A rickshaw passenger Prity was also got shot and died on the spot.
Tipu’s driver Monir Hosen Munna got shot on his hand in the incident. Later, Tipu’s wife Farhana Islam Dolly filed the case with Shahjahanpur Police station.
